Are you wanting to add an email address to your WordPress site? Adding an email address link to your site can be confusing to new users but we have helped many people add this to their own site. In this video we will show you how to link to an email address in WordPress.

Summary of this tutorial: First thing you want to decide is where you want to add your email link, either in a post, page or another location.

For a post or a page you will start the same way you add a normal link by highlighting the text and clicking the add/edit link in the editor. For the email link you would add ‘mailto:’ to the front of the email address and that will become a valid link for sending an email on click.

If you want to add the link in a widget or sidebar, we would recommend doing the above and then going to the text view of your editor. From here you could copy the entire tag and your text for you to use in the widget. With that copied you would go under Appearance, Widgets and paste the code into a text widget for the link to be useable from your widget.

While this is something you can use we would not recommend it as it makes it more likely that your email will have spam sent to it. For preventing the spam we would recommend a form plugin like WPForms to allow your users to get in touch with you without the concern of a publically visible email address.

I happen to be the owner of this site, Mike Davidson, and I assembled this resource because I wanted to share a bunch of cool how to start a great blog videos. There’s not much more to say than that. πŸ™‚

Okay, so here comes the “but”…

Okay, so before we begin, I’d really better admit to something. Truthfully, the actualization of this site was, if I’m being totally honest with you, a selfish act on my part. See, I’m sort of addicted to how to make money with your website videos (like the How to linked to an Email adherence in WordPress vid you just finished up with), and a cool site on which I could re-watch my favorite videos is really what I was after.

I also see this site as a decent financial opportunity as well. Not gonna lie.

I don’t see anything wrong with earning a little money from sponsorships and how to make money with your website product recommendations. I hope you don’t either.

I’m a pretty straightforward person, if you couldn’t tell. But at the same time… I’m not here to sell anything. If something being offered on my site appeals to you, that would be an awesome bonus! If that’s not the case, I totally won’t hold it against you. You just being here is good enough for me. πŸ™‚

I just want you and I to be able to “crack out” on some cool how to create owesome websites videos together! πŸ˜‰
